Why we’re doing this

Skipping a screening isn’t a small thing.

Most serious diseases — colon cancer, breast cancer, heart disease, diabetes — grow quietly for years before you feel a single symptom. By the time something hurts, options narrow and treatment gets harder. Early detection is what gives you the best chance for a full recovery.

“No family history” is not a free pass. Most people diagnosed with cancer have no family history at all. And if your family does carry a history, skipping screenings is genuinely dangerous — the very thing that could save your life is the one thing you’re putting off.

We’re doing this because too many people in our community have lost someone to a disease that could have been caught sooner. ShomerChaim exists so a missed reminder never becomes a missed chance.

Why it matters

Annual Screening

Small visits can catch big problems. Annual physicals help track blood pressure, cholesterol, bloodwork, weight, diabetes risk, thyroid issues, heart concerns, and other health changes that may not have obvious symptoms.

EarlyDetection saves lives.

Schedule a yearly physical and basic bloodwork so your doctor can monitor changes before they become urgent.

Why it matters

Colonoscopy

Often preventable. Often found too late. Colorectal cancer can begin as small growths called polyps. A colonoscopy can help doctors find and remove polyps before they become cancer, and can detect cancer earlier when treatment options may be better.

91%5-year survival when colorectal cancer is found early.

Speak with your doctor about colonoscopy screening, especially around age 45 or earlier if you have family history or symptoms.

Why it matters

Mammograms

Earlier detection can change everything. Breast cancer may be easier to treat when found earlier. Mammograms can help detect breast changes before they can be felt, giving women more time, more clarity, and more care options.

1 in 8Women will develop breast cancer during their lifetime.

Speak with your doctor about mammograms and women’s health visits, especially around age 40 or earlier if risk factors apply.

Reminders first

Most people don’t forget on purpose. Life just gets busy.

Most people care about their health. Life gets busy, appointments get delayed, and screenings are easy to push off. ShomerChaim helps keep preventative care on your mind at the right time.
